4.3 EQUIPMENT
A player’s equipment consists of a jersey and shorts / leggings.

4.3.1 The colour and the design for the jerseys and shorts / leggings must be uniform for the team (except for the Libero). The length or fit of the shorts are irrelevant and of no consequence. The uniforms must be clean.

4.3.3 Players’ jerseys must be numbered from 1 to 99.

4.3.3.1 The number must be placed on the jersey at the centre of the front and of the back. The colour and brightness of the numbers must contrast with the colour and brightness of the jerseys.

4.3.3.2 The number must be a minimum of 10 cm in height on the chest and a minimum of 15 cm in height on the back. The stripe forming the numbers shall be a minimum of 2 cm in width.

4.3.4 The team captain must have on his/her jersey a stripe of 8 X 2 cm underlining the number on the chest.

USAV RULEBOOK KEY POINTS

Jerseys must be identical for all regular players (non-Libero).

Uniforms must be numbered in a permanent manner using Arabic numerals (not roman numerals).
a. Numbers 1-99 are legal.
b. Number minimum height: Front 4″; Back 6″. Recommended: Front 6″; Back 8″.
c. The stripe forming the number must be solid with a minimum width of 3/4″.
d. The stripe forming the number must clearly contrast with the jersey.

Uniform Bottoms may differ in style and cut but must all be the same color. (excluding the Libero)

The Libero jersey must clearly contrast with, and have a different dominant color(s) from the jersey of their teammates.

Each Region develops its own policies for Regional events. At National events, the head referee and tournament director will assist in resolving any issues.
