It’s Scholarship Application time!

Maverick Scholarship of Excellence

Applications are now being accepted for the Maverick Scholarship of Excellence. 

The Maverick Volleyball Club is committed to promoting and supporting excellence among its athletes – both on and off the court.

To reward the hard work of our players who proudly wear the Maverick jersey, we are pleased to announce that we will be awarding four scholarships of $1,500 each to our 2024 graduating players who exemplify Maverick core values.

• Two scholarships will be awarded to graduating players on a 17/18U G team.
• Two scholarships will be awarded to graduating players on a 17/18U B team.

All graduating players who will be attending a post-secondary institution in September 2024 may apply, whether they will go on to play varsity or not.

Criteria:

• Applicants must demonstrate excellence in academics, volleyball, and community involvement.
• Applicants must currently be on a team roster with a Maverick provincial or national Maverick team.
• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution (university or college). Note, that if you are on a 17U team but are attending a post-secondary institution in September 2024, you are eligible to apply.

How to apply?

• Complete the Scholarship of Excellence Application Form (download from the link below).
• Submit letters of reference from people who can validate your academic excellence and community involvement. Your Maverick coach will be contacted by the selection committee to provide a reference to determine their athletic excellence.
• Send your application and letters to youthfund@gomaverick.ca.

What is the deadline?
Application deadline is Sunday, May 12^th, 2024.

Who is assessing the applications?
An independent committee made up of alumni coaches and parents will be evaluating the scholarship applications.

When will the scholarship winners be announced?
Winners will be announced at the Maverick’s Year-End Banquet on June 2^nd.
