Maverick Volleyball is pleased to announce the appointment of Jelle Kooijman as Technical Director.
Jelle has a Bachelor of Science in Human Movement Science from VU University, Amsterdam, as well as a European Master in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Thessaly, Greece, and the University of Jyväksylä, Finland.
This is the first year of a formalized Technical Director role at the Mavs. The Technical Director is responsible for the vision, strategy and implementation of all coach and athlete development programs within Maverick Volleyball. Jelle will work with a Technical Committee to focus on developing coaches to meet the unprecedented growth in the club while continuing to advance the Mavs as leaders in athlete development by setting program curriculums and standards.
Jelle is the current Head Coach of the Algonquin Wolves Men’s Varsity Volleyball Team and is the Mental Performance Coach for Volleyball Canada’s Men’s National Program. He has held various positions with Maverick Volleyball over the past 5 years, including Director of Youth Program Design, Head Clinician, and Mental Performance Coach.
We are delighted to have Jelle take on this very important role and look forward to watching new visions take shape.
