Broncos bring resilience and energy

May 6, 2025

The Maverick Broncos season has been a story of two halves. Losing three key members to the NEP program through December, with a reduced squad they fought hard to mimic the 4th seed in the Province coming into the year. Although we slipped a little, there was growth and inspired effort!

January brought together all members for the first time with a renewed sense of urgency and excitement. They showed a new energy and it was reflected with medals in the Coupe de l’Est (Bronze), the 18U OVA (Gold) to get us back in the top nine, Bronze in the prestigious Vegas Classic, and Bronze at the Grand Prix Qualifier. The results were a direct result of focus on process and hard work.

The Broncos followed that up with a 5th at the Grand Prix and after a slip in our first match at Provincials, rebounded to win Gold at Div.1 Tier 2. The coaching staff are extremely proud of this group, the resilience they have shown, and the determined focus in preparation for their last club competition in their Maverick career at Nationals.
