Rangers' Build on Lessons from Post Secondary Athletes

The Maverick Rangers have had an exciting and educational season to this point and look forward to building on their recent Bronze Medal performance at 17U Grand Prix.

The Rangers have had the privilege of working with the following post secondary programs this season to give them a taste of what it takes to be successful in Volleyball once they leave the Maverick fold: CEGEP Sherbrooke, Université de Sherbrooke, Université de Montréal, and Queens University. The coaches and players are very grateful to those programs for hosting our boys and providing us with the benefit of their expertise. It was an eye-opening experience to see the high level of focus and intensity that post secondary athletes bring to each and every session. Our training environment has certainly benefited from these events.

The Rangers have competed in 3 US events to this point this season, highlighted by a Silver Bracket Gold Medal playing up at 18U in the Beast of the East. In OVA play, the Rangers posted Silver Medal in the opening event to go with their Bronze at last weekend’s Grand Prix. These results should see the Rangers head into the Provincial Championship with a 3rd place ranking and looking forward to the intense competition to come at Provincials and Nationals.
