Congrats to the 16U Wildcards for their Gold Medal finish in North Bay at 17U Trillium Green!
From April 4-6th, the U16G Maverick Wildcards participated in their Provincial Championships at Rim Park in Waterloo where they were one of only two teams to capture a perfect 6-0 result in their division in their first two days of pool play. On the third day, after a hard-fought loss to the Peterborough Thunder the Wildcards proudly closed their regular season with a substantial gain to their pre-season rankings by climbing from 72nd place to 41st place.
Congratulations to the Maverick Wildcards on capturing the Tier 2 Silver Medal at the 2025 Storm Ice Spring Fling!
Despite facing teams ranked 20–30 spots higher at Provincials, the Wildcards showed grit, sportsmanship, and resilience—adapting to injuries, new positions, and tough competition.
After winning both the quarter- and semi-finals, they went toe-to-toe with the 13th-ranked team in Ontario, Synergy Boom, pushing a tight second set to 25–23.
A hard-fought finish that proves they’ve got the game—and the heart—for Nationals.
