We are excited to welcome James Battiston back to the Maverick organization. His long volleyball history includes playing for York University as a middle, a few seasons overseas in Europe, and being a member of our National Beach Program. For the past two decades, he has also been a participant and then coach at Madawaska Volleyball Camp. Back in 2009 or so, “Batti” moved to Ottawa where he head coached the Maverick Mustangs before assisting at Queens with the Mens program. He also was an AC for long-time Mavs coach Judi Mousseau for a part of a season after returning from overseas, and also AC for Sandra Benoit (now Dennis). After some time back in Toronto, he returned once again to Ottawa, and accepted a position at Volleyball Canada. In addition to his VC commitments, he will take on a very key part-time role with us as Manager of Events. In this role, James will build and grow Maverick Events in ways that will increase awareness of the size and scope of the entire organization and boost its “Fun Factor”.
