Preparations are well underway and we are getting excited for the 2024 Regional Training Centre tryouts. Formerly known as the CTC (Competitive Training Centre, the name has been changed to reflect the fact that this centre wraps up at about the same time as Provincial Championships, so no competitive teams are formed at the end of this session. However, athletes who earn a spot in the RTC will gain valuable skills and be much better prepared for September tryouts if that is their ultimate goal.
Tryouts provide a chance for our coaches to get a good look at each contender. Their task is to assess each athlete’s current skills and apparent aptitude for the exciting game of volleyball. Official offers will be made to those selected to join winter training centre and the athletes who accept with train twice weekly, eventually forming competition squads to compete against each other and at least one multi-club tournament that is within a 2-hour radius of the Ottawa area (Montreal, Kingston, Gatineau, Ottawa).
