Day 2 in Pennsylvania

2018 / 02 / 24

The Rangers started the day off with the biggest upset of the tournament,. Seeded #8 coming in to the event the boys made the PP round only to come up against #1 overall Rochester Pace Bootlegger. Undaunted the guys upset the South Shore team in 3. A hiccup in their second led to an eventual tie breaker after the pool was complete and the Rangers got off to a slow start against Warren 6Pack from Chicago. Bending but not breaking the team returned to form and won the 25 point tie break to move to tomorrows Gold Bracket playdowns,.

The Mustangs entered the day after winning their pool yesterday handily but dropped the opening set in their first PP match. Again the resilience showed as the 'Stangs rebounded to roll off 6 straight set wins to take their pool and head into tomorrow on a high note.

The Longhorns decided they liked to play catch up today, it may have been that trip to the Hersey's Chocolate world tour in their system. But in the first set of matches 1 and 2 today they trailed 4-15 and 5-12 in each. Catch up they did taking both sets in under 22 and dominating the second of each match. This set up a win or go home for their final opponent Coastal VC from Virginia. The Longhorns seemed to respond to coach MacLean's urgent request to come out fast. Taking a 16-11 lead only to squander it and fall 22-25. Determined to right the ship the guys steppped it up to another gear and handed the #6 seed consecutive losses where they only earned 6 points in each. 25-6 and 15-6. The Longhorns also advance with a clean slate to play Richmond tomorrow in the Quarters of the Gold Bracket.

Moe on some great OVA results when I get the updates from coaches.
