Maverick Volleyball Charity for 2017

2017 / 08 / 28

Jacob Emmanuel Doyle was a promising young 15u player in the mid 2000's when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour that would change his life forever. As a club this was one of our biggest setbacks for any active player and something that made us all realize how fortunate we are to train and play the sport we love. $5 from each athlete's training fee will be donated in October at Mavs night by the club in Jacob's name.

Jacob was hospitalized for a prolonged period during and after surgery at CHEO. There he recieved the support required to make the long transition back to his home life and to finish his school (A CCSG student).

Today Jacob has his heart set on giving back to those who helped his family and himself in such a difficult perion. His older brother and idol- Simon has been a staple figure with both the Young Mavs programs, Summer camps and coaching various age group boys teams- made the suggestion a year ago and now Jacob has taken hold of the idea and will be coming to Mavs night to announce a furhter initiative for next spring on the Beach.
