14u Second Half Try-outs

2015 / 12 / 29

The club is fortunate enough to secure the services of Moraine Williams and Jennie Esnard to coach this group of novice players in the second half of our competitive season.

The purpose of the team is to give athletes who may have missed try-outs or participated in Fall Young Mavs sessions a chance to join a team and begin training without waiting until next seasons September try-outs. This will give these athletes a chance to train and keep pace with their counterpart on other Maverick teams. The program was very successful last season and promises to be even better this year.

These two women are prepared to bring their experience and enthusiasm to the Maverick family this season and we are happy to have them in the fold.

While Moraine has been gained the bulk of her experience in coaching athletes in football and touch football. She says here heart has always been with the sport of Volleyball coached by some of the most revered coaches in Ontario I gained valuable knowledge and strategic insight  towards the game. I enjoy a challenge and worked with various skill levels. I look forward to being a part of the Maverick organization.

Jennie feels honoured to join the Maverick Volleyball Club. As a competitive athlete for the past 20 years primarily as a Touch Football and Soccer, the last 10 years I placed emphasis on coaching women's programs mostly working with female soccer and touch football teams in the over 30 category. After a lengthy hiatus I returned to the volleyball court to coach U13G with emphasis on mental and strategic  development. Along with physical fitness as a result they attained bronze at the OVA Championships. I hold numerous championships and titles both as a player and a coach. incl Canadian and Provincial Champions. My coaching goal is to bring out the best in each athlete with team work and determination.

Tryouts will occur on Monday Jan 11th Hillcrest HS (Dauphin Cr) 7:00-9:00 PM (enter by the front door of the school) and Thursday the 14th at St Patrick CHS (Alta Vista at Heron) 6:00-8:00 pm Training will occur on the same evenings, times and locations for the remainder of the spring season.
