Maverick Volleyball Assistant Clinicians

Maverick Volleyball has been serving youth and adults in the National Capital Region since 1985 and offers high quality competitive and innovative community programs for everyone. Maverick Volleyball is currently seeking outgoing, creative, flexible, motivated, and team-oriented individuals who have a passion for working with youth and who enjoy variety and working in a dynamic, exciting, and growing business environment. 

This position is part-time contract and varies based on programs.

 Maverick Volleyball community programs include:

• March Break Camps (approximately 40 hours)
• Indoor and Beach Summer Camps (approximately 40 hours)
• House League (approximately 24 hours)
• Young Maverick Development Programs (approximately 32 hours)

A.      Major Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Community Program Coordinator and the Head Clinician, Maverick Volleyball Assistant Clinicians help facilitate and deliver Maverick Volleyball Community Programs based on developed curriculums. The main activities are:  

• Help provide the foundation for youth to acquire and develop volleyball skills
• Assist the Head Clinician by demonstrating drills and techniques
• Take instruction as given by the Head Clinician
• Provide coaching, feedback and encouragement to athletes
• Provide a professional and positive experience for all participants
• Help with registration and t-shirt distribution
• Set-up and take down of gym

 B.      Qualifications and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes: Experience in delivering youth volleyball programs and coaching volleyball.  

• Good knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules and game strategies
• Experience working with youth
• Excellent coaching skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Maturity and positive attitude
• Bilingualism an asset

• Ethics and Fairness: Treating everyone fairly and equitably and maintaining high ethical standards.

D.      What We Offer

This is a part time position with a salary range of $11 to $14/hour for Junior Assistants and $15-$25/hour for Senior Assitants. The hourly rate will be determined based on the experience of the selected candidate.
