Tryouts are required for all competitive-level teams and training squads.
The Competitive Training Centre is a 12-week program (24 sessions) that was introduced in 2022 and aims to provide a high quality experience between the recreational programs and the high performance training centres (HPTC). The CTC provides more intense training and includes two sessions a week, weekly squad-on-squad gameplay, a local area tournament, team building activity as well as introduction into strength and mental training by professionals. The program is divided into two phases. During the first four weeks, the ‘pre-season’, athletes practice twice a week under the supervision of an experienced master coach. After this, they enter the ‘CTC game-play season’ in which athletes are placed into squads and given game jerseys. Squads practice once a week and compete against each other each week and one local area tournament (furthest possible would be Kingston).
Some athletes from the fall CTC will be invited to create a new travelling competitve team. These teams will begin to be formed in principle in Decemeber with a start date in January.
In early January, new contenders will be assessed for the winter CTC. Those from the fall CTC who are not joining a competitive team, or who need more development, can try out for the Winter CTC which will run Feb-Apr. The Competitive Training Centre Includes:- two 2-hour sessions per week (48 hours total)
The CTC program is for Athletes aged 10-16 who are interested in training and competing at a competitive level and potentially joining a travelling competitive or high performance team in the future
