Maverick alumni attending Team Canada Selection Camps

2013 / 05 / 01

Women:

Of the 46 women attending the National Women’s Team open selection camp three once wore the Maverick colours:

·         Kelsie English (Mavs’10) – University of Ottawa, 2013 4th at CIS

·         Myriam English (Mavs’10) – University of Ottawa, 2013 4th at CIS

·         Laurel O’Bright (Mavs’11) – St. Mary’s University

Men:

Jeremie Lortie (Mavs’ 09 – National Champion, CIS ’13 Champion and CIS Championship MVP) will be the lone Maverick alumni in the group of 49 men vying for a position on the National Men’s B team. This team will represent Canada at the Pan Am Cup in Mexico and at the World University Games in Russia.

Bruno Lortie (Mavs’12) is one of 40 athletes invited to the National Junior Men’s selection camp. Bruno who is fresh off of the CIS title with the Universite de Laval in his rookie season was an alternate on the National Junior team in 2012. He will be vying for a roster spot to represent Canada at the 2013 U21 FIVB World Championships in Turkey this summer.
